John Rebchook: 10.9% Home Appreciation

Circling back in May, Denver is still at the top of the charts with 10.9% home appreciation rate year over year.

Denver-area single-family home prices rose 10.9% in March compared with March 2015, according to a national report released on Tuesday.

The Denver-Aurora-Lakewood metropolitan statistical area topped the 10 major markets highlighted by CoreLogic. CoreLogic owns the closely watched Case-Shiller Index.

The San Francisco area was No. 2, with year-over-year appreciation of 9.3%

Colorado showed a 10% year-over-year appreciation in March, tied for second place with Oregon.

Washington was No. 1, with a 13 percent increase.

Overall, single-family home nationwide rose by 6.7% on a year-over-year basis.
