Meet Ian Crosser

Ian Crosser is a Senior Developer here at TRELORA, and he is one of the brilliant minds driving our technological processes and systems to completion. We do things a little differently around here on behalf of consumers, and when we say, “Let’s do it like this,” Ian makes it tick in a way that makes sense for the team and our clients. His holistic approach to problem-solving makes us better every day. 

What does it mean to you to be part of TRELORA?

Being a part of TRELORA means I am a part of a movement that is changing an entire industry on behalf of consumers. We offer great technology, fair pricing and candid information to our clients, all while continuing to provide the full service that customers expect.

What do you like about working at TRELORA?

I like being able to see the work I do on the websites make others’ lives easier, whether the project benefits the team internally or our customers. 

How do you try to leave people better?

I try to leave other better by always being happy, smiling, listening and teaching wherever possible.

Tell us about your best TRELORA experience.

My best TRELORA experience was when I rolled out text messaging to the team.  Everyone was so happy! 90% of our customers want to communicate with us through text, and we were able to eliminate extraneous emails and phone calls by giving clients exactly what they asked for. The result is a better use of everyone’s time; the phones ring less often and instead of getting an email every 10 to 15 seconds we receive contract related emails every hour or so. It's changed the way the team communicates with our customers and everyone seems to love it – especially clients when they get a text response back from the team in 3 minutes or less!

Tell us about a work-related challenge you have overcome.

Joshua gave us two weeks to replace Sales Force, a program which drove our under contract side of the business. Keith and I worked our keesters off to implement the baby version of the events and tasks engine we have today. Getting it to the point of maturity took another six weeks and a lot of testing. 

This project required a lot of effort and fine-tuning, but I'm so happy all of the functionality we have in the engine is tested as much as possible. It makes our processes better, the organization better and the final result for clients better. 

If you weren't revolutionizing the real estate industry, what would you be doing?

I would be coding another app or web service, playing video games, being active and hiking out in the mountains.

Read any good books lately? 

I've recently read two good books: You Are Not a Gadget by Jaron Lanier, and What if? by Randall Munroe.

Pets? Family? Hobbies?

I am married to my beautiful wife Emily and have a Shiba Inu named Yuki.

Next time you save $12k (or more) on your personal real estate transaction, how will you spend your dough?

I would put it toward my next vacation out of the country. Either Japan or somewhere in Europe.
