Denver-based brokerage site promotes flat-rate service by publishing real estate agent commissions

January 12, 2017

DENVER – A Colorado real estate brokerage is once again publishing agent commissions on its website in an effort to promote its flat-rate fee structure.

Denver-based Trelora first started publishing the commission information in 2015 but received a cease-and-desist order from REcolorado, which provides Trelora’s listing data.

This time around, Trelora says it worked with REcolorado to make sure it’s in compliance with rules regarding use of the multiple-listing service.

TRELORA listing buy-side commissions again

January 11, 2017

Trelora, a flat-fee real estate agency, will take a second stab at publicizing the commissions a home seller is willing to pay agents representing a buyer.

In February 2015, Denver-based Trelora provided information on buy-side commissions with its online listings, but received a cease-and-desist order from REcolorado, the region’s multiple listing service.

Why some home buyers are ditching the real estate agent and turning to start-ups

September 30, 2016

Real estate agents used to be privy to a lot of information that home buyers couldn’t obtain on their own.

But now property listings, photo galleries, historic sales prices, school ratings and neighborhood crime rates are freely accessible to anyone with just a few clicks. For some assertive buyers, that’s an invitation to bypass an agent and, in the process, cut out the pesky 5% to 6% commission that is traditionally split between the buyer’s agent and the seller’s agent.
