Tell us about a work-related challenge you have overcome

Feeling stuck in my old job, and finding this one is a great challenge I just recently overcame.

If you weren't revolutionizing the real estate industry, what would you be doing?

I'd be in a gym, on the slopes, or taking the Jeep to new heights.

Family? Pets? Hobbies?

I have a 6-month old puppy named Ringo - he is a Great Pyrenees/Labrador mix. My family resides in my hometown of Topeka, KS. I have a younger sister who went to Syracuse University in NY. Hobbies include snowboarding, camping, hiking, checking out new craft breweries, taking out my Jeep Rubicon, or going to a ball game at Coors field.

Next time you save $12k (or more) on your personal real estate transaction, how will you spend your dough?

Jeep upgrades, condo upgrades, and maybe a few shares in some stocks.

Describe your dream home

My dream home is in the mountains, with a view, a pool table, a hot tub, and a wet bar.

What's your favorite Denver brewery or happy hour spot?

Tell us about a work-related challenge you have overcome.

At TRELORA, the tech team is using some technologies I had used previously, but never on the scale we are using them here. It has been both challenging and fun to dive into these new technologies and use them for innovative TRELORA applications.

Read any good books lately?

  • I am a voracious reader, avid film fan and a collector of vinyl. A recent book, film and record: Book. American Gods by Neil Gaiman
  • Film.  “Jackie.” I saw this at the Denver Film Festival and loved the acting performances, cinematography, and soundtrack.
  • Vinyl. Kikagaku Moyo, House in the Tall Grass. I saw this band at the Hi Dive, and it was one of the best shows of 2016.

Pets? Family? Hobbies?

I love to snowboard and try to get up every weekend. I am a Colorado native, and a big fan of all the classic outdoor activities and spending as much time as possible in the mountains: Hiking, camping, bike riding, white water rafting, fly fishing, concerts at Red Rocks... Traveling is a passion of mine as well. I have been to many different countries and love experiencing different cultures, foods, etc. I am always planning my next trip.

Next time you save $12k (or more) on your personal real estate transaction, how will you spend your dough?

A vacation! That might mean a beach, a new city, or a rural backpacking trip. I would definitely spend the cash on a trip, maybe a ski trip to Japan.

Seeing Josh present at the 2015 Techstars Boulder Demo Day was a spiritual moment for me.

Tell us about a work-related challenge you have overcome.

Misogyny. And frankly, I haven't overcome it and I doubt I ever will. It's a problem in all industries, but especially so in tech companies. I've experienced or witnessed some form of it at every company I've ever worked at. So, I've worked hard to call it out when I see it, and I frequently mentor startup founders through programs like Techstars, Canopy Boulder and Commons On Champa. I'm obsessed with helping other women be more successful and achieve equality in the workplace.

If you weren't revolutionizing the real estate industry, what would you be doing?

I would be spending more time learning how to be more present.

Pets? Family? Hobbies?

1 husband. 2 teenagers. I love food, wine, travel and supporting the arts.

Next time you save $12k (or more) on your personal real estate transaction, how will you spend your dough?

Probably by reinvesting it into my next home.

Describe your dream home.

A new build home with tons of privacy and epic views of downtown Denver or the Flatirons.

What's your favorite Denver brewery or happy hour spot?

Denver is not my jam, but Brasserie Ten Ten in Boulder has the best happy hour anywhere along the front range. The deep fried haricot verts paired with their house white is divine.

With design, there are challenges every day. I am always balancing to keep my designs easy to use, easy to understand and beautiful at the same time.

If you weren't revolutionizing the real estate industry, what would you be doing?

I love being a graphic and product designer whether it's print or digital, so I would most likely be continuing my passion at a tech company or design studio.

Pets? Family? Hobbies?

I am married to my wonderful husband David, and we have an adorable little Yorkshire Terrier named Rosie. She has 2x the attitude of her size and looks just like an Ewok from StarWars. In my spare time, I take ballet classes and love to cook.

Next time you save $12k (or more) on your personal real estate transaction, how will you spend your dough?

I think I would definitely take some of the money to go on a vacation (maybe Prague or Tokyo). The rest I would put into savings or retirement.

Describe your dream home

My dream home would be a loft style condo. I love hardwood floors, exposed brick and a beautifully designed kitchen and bathroom.

What's your favorite Denver brewery or happy hour spot?

I really like D Bar. They always have delicious bites to share with friends and a great selection of yummy, creative cocktails.

Q & A with Zach Whittaker

What does it mean to you to be part of TRELORA?

We are on the forefront of revolutionizing an industry. It’s something that is extremely exciting, and I’m proud to be a part of. We’re making history here.

What do you like about working at TRELORA?

At the core of the work we do at TRELORA, I am involved in helping the public. We’re giving the power (and the money!) back to the people. I’ve worked in the emergency medicine field and served in the military. The overall connection of everything I’ve ever done is that it has always been based in helping and serving others. TRELORA is allowing me to continue that tradition.

How do you try to leave people better?

My goal is to surpass our clients’ expectations of what they think the company will do for them. I want to leave them wowed by the experience they’ve had, and the organization I represent.

Name 3 of your core values.

  • Honor
  • Respect

  • Devotion to Duty (thanks Coast Guard)

Tell us about your best TRELORA experience. (or another positive work experience)

So far at TRELORA, every day has brought a new level of positivity. As I continue to learn my roll and how I fit into our overall mission, I gain better awareness of the amazing things we accomplish every day. A past summer gig as an ATV guide in Alaska - that was a pretty great experience, too!

Tell us about a work-related challenge you have overcome.

From the military to my current position, I’ve faced a variety of challenges. I could write a whole novel just about basic training! “Basic training” at TRELORA means learning the ins and outs of my position, and how it relates to the big picture. I’ve learned so much since the overwhelming first day. Our work offers up ever-changing process, but I feel confident and poised to succeed!

If you weren't revolutionizing the real estate industry, what would you be doing?

Hiking, skiing, biking, fishing, traveling (your typical Colorado outdoor enthusiast stuff). Oh, and concerts. #alltheconcerts. Oh shoot...was this supposed to be about jobs? In that case, I think I’d be a park ranger!

Read any good books lately?

My family is from Bangor, Maine. If you know anything about our little city, you’ll know I’m automatically a die-hard Stephen King fan.

Pets? Family?

My girlfriend and I have two dogs and a rabbit (shout out to Luna, Nila and Bunz). We’re all about the outdoors, so Colorado is an ideal place to call home.

Next time you save $12k (or more) on your personal real estate transaction, how will you spend your dough?

I would like to think I would responsibly invest it in my Roth IRA and pat myself on the back for my maturity. We’ll see about that!
