How much do you pay a realtor?

Normally, you would pay a realtor up to 6% of the sales price of the home. The buyer’s and the seller’s realtor typically receive up to 3% of the home sale each. This means if a home sells for $400,000, each realtor will get $12,000. If the home sells for $700,000, each realtor will get $21,000. Compare this to TRELORA where you will pay a flat fee of $3,000 in Colorado and $4,000 in Washington to represent you as a buyer or a seller. It’s also important to know that it’s the seller who negotiates the total sales commission as well as what to offer the buyer’s agent in the listing contract. Again, 3% is customary, but it’s also important for buyers to know that they may be able to receive a rebate on this buyer’s commission. So for a $400,000 home, the total rebates and commission savings would come to $16,000-$18,000 when paying our flat-fee commissions.
